We Must Protest
The Importance of Taking a Stand.
You’re Just A Dot.

In a massive protest march, you are just one dot in a sea of dots.
Easy to miss.
Easy to dismiss.
That feeling of insignificance is what abusive power depends upon in the hopes that you’ll sit this one out. A march is partly assembled because each dot counts as a single act of defiance. Remove enough dots, and the sea becomes a puddle.
Your presence adds weight, scale, and proof that there is a massive wave of resistance.
You matter because without your presence, there is no resistance.
You matter.
You.
Matter.
And every one of you is needed to bring about change.
Enough is enough.
Our Nation did not evolve as a democracy by quiet agreement. It was shaped by people who felt, “Enough is enough”, and then took it upon themselves to rise up in protest.
Going back to 1913, women took to the streets of Washington to demand the right to vote. Later, in 1963, the March on Washington placed civil rights at the center of national life, with Martin Luther King Jr. calling the country to deliver on its promise. Anti-war marches forced leaders to confront the cost of Vietnam in both blood and treasure. And relatively recent, the Women’s March in 2017 was a show of mass resistance on day one of the Trump administration.
And now we see ‘Operation Epic Fury’, an epically ill-advised attack on Iran without a clearly-defined goal, much like taking a bat to a hornet’s nest, then waiting to see how it will all turn out.
These are not passive movements.
They apply pressure. They demanded public recognition.
Laws were then changed or created because the general public turned out in mass to show their support or opposition. People shouted, chanted, and proudly exclaimed their resistance not from their laptops, but from the streets. They were powerful statements because they took effort.
You had to show up.
Get Up. Stand Up.

Marching has tangible results because it shows the Nation that people said “Enough!” and turned out in overwhelming numbers, sending a powerful message to others watching to… Get up off their butt or be part of the problem.
It turns private outrage into a public display of resistance, forcing politicians to respond because crowds fill avenues, and cameras captured/posted/broadcasted their defiance. These efforts forced politicians to speak to the people, to answer (or often avoid) tough questions.
It commanded them to answer, with their silence impossible to defend.
When the people sit silent, so do the politicians, and history always remembers those who show up and those who sit on their couch.
Mahatma Gandhi
“You may never know what results come of your actions, but if you do nothing, there will be no result.”
Under Donald Trump, this administration has leaned into strongman tactics and public intimidation. Immigration raids by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement have become symbols of fear for many communities. We are watching in real-time as Minneapolis stands as a remarkable reminder of what happens when state power meets public outrage, with protests demanding accountability and equal protection under the law.
These are no longer behind closed-door debates. They are powerful realities that are being witnessed by citizens across our nation, around the entire world.
It demands everyone’s attention.
It’s A Tactic… And It’s Working.
The anxiety we now feel is not going to go away without significant effort. Talk of conquering territories and global dominance, including bat-shit crazy rhetoric about places taking territories like Greenland, reflect a mindset that treats democracy as optional and physical force as the new normal.
Even when such idiotic statements remain farcical, the damage is real.
We are being trained to accept it. Worse, we’re being conditioned to be overwhelmed by it… To ignore it.
This is their tactic to silence our voices.
It’s Time To Decide.

This is where protest marching matters most.
Democracy does not survive in the voting booth alone. It survives when we use our Constitutional right to free speech in public, when we gather in the streets, and when we refuse to normalize the abuse of power.
Marching draws a line on the pavement. It states there is a limit to what we will take. It says the country belongs to us, and not to any one man’s ambition, delusional or otherwise.
History is watching us the same way it has watched others throughout the centuries.
We will not be judged by what we say in private. We will be judged by what we now do in public.
Participation is no longer optional.
Today, we have the #NOKINGS Marches across the Nation. In fact, because of the repercussions of this administration, the #NOKINGS rallies are now taking place around the world. It is the defining march of defiance for this generation, and while the numbers have been record-breaking, this movement doesn’t mean that every body isn’t needed on the street to show their disapproval.
Every. Dot. Counts.
Whether we stay at home or stand in the streets is a decision we can no longer avoid.
It’s time to choose which side of history we want to be on, and what our own legacy will be.
We hope to see you out there.
You won’t be alone.
